BR
The BR family of polybutadiene rubber helps optimize tire compositions, improving grip, fuel economy, and overall lifetime. They provide a great balance between processability and performance.
ARLANXEO produces a broad portfolio of Solution-Styrene Butadiene Rubbers under the brand name BUNA®. Solution-Styrene Butadiene Rubber (S-SBR) is a copolymer of styrene and 1,3-butadiene produced via an anionic polymerization in a solution process.
Solution SBR's are the first choice to produce high performance tire tread compounds, particularly for silica filled tire treads for low rolling resistance tires and for the high-performance sector.
ARLANXEO can offer a broad portfolio of different types of S-SBRs with a wide range in microstructure (vinyl/styrene), varied types of coupling, adjusted glass transition temperature (Tg), targeted functionalization’s and Mooney viscosity values.
LOW VINYL SOLUTION STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® SL)
The low vinyl content provides a low Tg which gives an excellent low temperature flexibility, abrasion resistance and low rolling resistance. The products marketed under the name BUNA® SL are typically used to produce tires and molded technical parts.
SOLUTION STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER BLOCK POLYMER (BUNA® BL)
BUNA® BL grades present a high content of block styrene that makes these polymers a good choice for the manufacturing of shoes soles with increased hardness without sacrificing abrasion resistance.
SOLUTION VINYL STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® VSL)
Solution vinyl styrene butadiene rubbers have a modified microstructure with a higher vinyl content, resulting in a higher Tg for an excellent balance of important properties in tire compounds like handling, traction and rolling resistance. The products marketed under the name BUNA® VSL are widely used in passenger tire tread formulations and in particular, high performance tire treads.
FUNCTIONALIZED SOLUTION VINYL STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® FX)
The BUNA® FX is a family of high-performance Solution-Styrene Butadiene Rubbers (S-SBR). The BUNA® FX grades are functionalized with polar end-groups to increase the interaction with silica fillers reducing the rolling resistance of the tire.

The BR family of polybutadiene rubber helps optimize tire compositions, improving grip, fuel economy, and overall lifetime. They provide a great balance between processability and performance.
E-SBR is predominantly used for the production of car tires, light truck tires and truck tire retread compounds. It presents good mechanical properties, abrasion, and tear resistance.
Specialty rubbers used in the automotive industry and formulated to maximize the performance of tires can go a long way toward helping reduce CO2 emissions.
